The inspiration for this painting is drawn from the state of mind a person feels after a life-changing experience. The colours in the painting’ bottom half represent the life of a person, with its ups and downs, brighter and darker moments and all the shades in between. When a dramatic event takes place in a person’s life, a life-changing experience, a person’s world changes forever. This is represented by the white spillage running across the top, gradually covering life with pain, distress and misery. The cracks in the white represent the fears and insecurities that gradually creep in and take over a person’s mind and soul. The longer this event or period of life goes on for, the more cracks in a person’s confidence appear. The frustrations boiling over, represented by the bubbles, bursting through the blanket of white as they gradually take over the person’s mind.
